Wrapping Up the AI Application Seminar Series: IUH Enhances Digital Competence for Lecturers 04-09-2025

Following the workshop “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education” on August 12, 2025, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) continued to implement an in-depth seminar series under the theme “Enhancing AI Application Competence in Higher Education.” The program attracted strong interest and enthusiastic participation from IUH faculty members.

High Engagement and Practical Content

The three-day seminar series (August 23, 24, and 30, 2025) blended theory with hands-on practice. The program was led by IUH’s technology experts, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Tường Nguyên, Dr. Nguyễn Việt Hùng, Dr. Vũ Đức Thịnh, Dr. Nguyễn Chí Kiên, MSc. Nguyễn Hữu Tình, and Eng. Trần Tấn Thành.

Training sessions focused on practical aspects such as:

  • Creating digital learning materials, lectures, and content with AI tools
  • Developing multiple-choice and essay question banks aligned with rubrics
  • Applying AI in grading and assessment
  • Supporting scientific research and publishing
  • Compiling textbooks and reference materials
  • Drafting academic and management reports

On August 23, the program opened with sessions on AI thinking in academic work and applications of AI in lesson preparation, accompanied by practice using tools such as ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, and Gamma. App, and NotebookLM. On August 24, the seminar covered building question banks, analyzing learning outcomes, and applying AI in the compilation of research materials. On August 30, the program was held online, focusing on skills for evaluating information sources, analyzing the impact of AI on education, and conducting a comprehensive final practice session.

Leadership Perspective

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Trung Hiếu – Chairman of the University Council – emphasized: “This in-depth AI seminar series is a practical activity that not only enhances digital competence for lecturers and staff but also strongly promotes digital transformation in teaching, research, and university governance. We expect our lecturers to be equipped with effective skills and tools to integrate AI into their daily professional work.”

Active Participation and Strong Impact

The series brought together over 250 lecturers from different faculties, reflecting an active spirit of learning, proactive discussion, and experience sharing. As a result, the seminars were dynamic, highly interactive, and rich in real-world practice scenarios, clearly addressing the urgent need to integrate AI into teaching, research, and higher education management.
